in praise of aprons

The anecdote below recently arrived in my inbox, sent by my Auntie Donna via my Mom. While I don't agree with every point - I attempt to make my own pies, (pavement for pastry and all) for C&E holidays at least - I do remember that my paternal Grandmother almost always wore an apron when we visited.

notes on the schoolhouse tunic

A couple of weeks ago I had a chance to sew up the Schoolhouse Tunic from Sew Liberated. In spite of the fact that I have a respectable amount of sewing experience, there aren’t many clothing items I’ve made that I have been able to finish within a couple of days with a pleasing result, but this pattern went together delightfully well.

crit or knochet?

We received our new cotton ribbon yarn yesterday from Mango Moon, and I managed to wait about 1/2 an hour before I opened up one of the balls. The question my Mom posed about the project I'm working on, is whether I am critting or knocheting.
