best of free summer patterns - crochet
The second in our best of summer free pattern series, crochet projects lend themselves well to summer as they often produce airy and light fabrics. Having said that, the use of smaller hooks yields lovely dense fabrics that are perfect for hats and bags.

Always on the lookout for a great free pattern, I recently searched on 'summer' in Ravelry's most popular patterns. Like many people, I have historically taken a break from knitting during the summer, but all season fibres like hemp, cotton, silk and even wool blends, have inspired me to find the perfect summer projects to either bring on vacation or for summer evenings on our deck.
